Auntie Brit! Britney Spears is happy to be an aunt for the second time after her little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, gave birth to her first child with husband Jamie Watson.
The “Slumber Party” singer, 36, congratulated her sister and her family on the arrival of their baby girl. “I could not be more excited to welcome baby Ivey to this world,” she tweeted on Thursday, April 12. “Congrats to @jamielynnspears and the whole family – I love you all so much!!!”
The singer — who is a mom to her two sons Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11 — also liked her sibling’s tweet announcing the baby’s arrival. “Baby Ivey Joan Watson is here,” the former Zoey 101 star tweeted on Thursday.
As previously reported, the actress, 27, revealed that she was expecting her first child with her husband, whom she married in 2014, with an adorable Instagram post in December 2017. “Looks like we are starting off 2018 with another big milestone … sooo happy to announce that Maddie is FINALLY going to be a big sister,” she captioned a photo of herself with Watson and her 9-year-old daughter, Maddie, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge.
She continued: “2017 was filled with some of the biggest challenges of my life, as well as some of the biggest blessings, so I made a choice to lay low this year to focus on truly becoming my best self as a person and as an artist. During that time, I continued working on my music and telling my story, which has created some of my most honest work and I CANT wait to share that with you all very soon. 2018 is going to be filled with many milestones both personally and professionally. I appreciate each of you for your patience and support through it all. 2018 has a lot coming, so GET READY.”
The Grammy winner also congratulated her sister after the announcement by sharing her post, and writing: “Maddie is going to be the best big sister!!! So happy for you @jamielynnspears!!!! Love you all sooo much!!!”
The Spears family has a lot to be grateful these days. Maddie was in an ATV accident in February 2017, in which she almost lost her life. The child was driving an off-road vehicle and it flipped over, leaving her unconscious after she was underwater for a few minutes. She was then airlifted to a nearby hospital and has since made a full recovery.
Jamie Lynn got pregnant with Maddie at the age of 16 and welcomed her in 2008, while she was starring in the Nickelodeon series.
