Their little angel is here! Chris Lucas of the country duo LoCash is now a dad of two, his rep confirms exclusively to Us Weekly. The “I Know Somebody” musician and his wife, Kaitlyn, welcomed a baby girl at the Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee, on Monday, March 21.
Remi McKenna Lucas arrived at 9:21 p.m., weighing in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces, and 19 inches long. The “I Love This Life” singer and Kaitlyn are already parents to son Caden, 5.
“We are super excited about having our first girl. We have a 5-year-old little boy who is our pride and joy, and now it’s time to welcome daddy’s little girl, and mommy’s sidekick. We’d spent five years with no luck with conceiving a second child. Just when we thought it was unlikely and wasn’t going to happen, our little boy came to us and said he wanted a sister, so we told him to pray to God that night! Well, one month later, we were pregnant! We feel so blessed and are extremely excited. P.S., future boys of all ages! There is nothing you can do that I haven’t done, so don’t even try it!” Lucas tells Us in a statement.
“Thank you so much of the Williamson Medical Center staff, and for the fans — thank you for all of your good wishes and prayers!” he adds. “See ya at an upcoming show!”
Back in 2011, Lucas and his bandmate, Preston Brust, who are signed to Reviver Records, joked about baby-proofing their tour bus for Caden.
“We’ve had to put soft things on all the corners of everything so the baby doesn’t hit his head. That’s been a big change!” Brust explained to Taste of Country. (Brust didn’t have a baby at the time, but he and his wife, Kristen, welcomed daughter Love in January.)
“Preston and I are the leaders, and you want your leaders to be happy, so you’ve got to make the wife happy! I’m a happy man if my wife’s happy,” Lucas added. “We’re on the road so much, and Preston understands this because he’s the godfather, but I still have to ask five other guys [if my wife and son can come out once a month]. I don’t like to go after seven days without seeing them. That’s been a major, but a good, adjustment.”
