It’s a boy! Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Tatyana Ali welcomed her first child — a son — with her new husband, Dr. Vaughn Rasberry, on Friday, September 16, her rep confirms to Us.
The former child star, now 37, previously chose to keep the gender of their baby a secret, though she dutifully documented her growing baby bump on social media throughout her pregnancy.
“After the gym this morning I thought I’d relax in the study and paint my toenails,” she captioned one eye-popping photo on Instagram in August, wherein just the top of her face peeked out from over her tummy. “Ha!! Imagine my surprise when I realized I can’t even see my toes. #bumplife.”
Ali tied the knot with Rasberry in July in a romantic Beverly Hills ceremony after dating for more than two years. The happy couple first met on the dating website eHarmony in 2014, and announced their engagement and pregnancy in April.
“Planning our wedding has been so exciting, but when we found out we were expecting, our perspective shifted completely,” Ali told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “We want our ceremony to really celebrate our newest blessing!”
Rasberry serves as an assistant English professor at Stanford University, and Ali previously stated that the pair had a very old-fashioned courtship, writing letters for months before they even chatted on Skype.
“He took me on a 45-minute hike in the Redwoods [in Yosemite, California], which he knows I absolutely love,” she told ET of his romantic proposal. “[He] proposed in the most picturesque clearing. Just the two of us. It was so thoughtful and perfect. We’re best friends.”
