How Pregnant Kym Herjavec Is Staying Fit and Indulging Cravings (Exclusive)

It was the phone call Kym Herjavec and her husband, Robert Herjavec, had been waiting for. “We had been trying for a couple of years, so it was so exciting when I got the call saying I was pregnant,” the Dancing With the Stars pro says in the new issue of Us Weekly. But even better news was on the way: “Then we found out it was twins! So it’s just been incredible.”

The Australia native, 41, who tells Us she conceived using IVF, was careful with exercise in her first trimester. In fact, she just didn’t do it. “The doctors were cautious. They didn’t want me to workout for the first three months,” she says. “Now I’m getting back into it.”

Besides strolling Runyon Canyon with her Shark Tank star hubby, 55 — who she met on DWTS in 2015 — the dancer is still teaching classes at her Beverly Hills studio, THE BOD. But maybe not for long! “I think I have to stop soon because I get out of breath — you’re calling out the class as well, and I get puffed a lot more than I used to, even walking up stairs. But there are two babies in there, so it’s to be expected,” says the star, who’s due in April.

Still, she’s intent on staying toned. “Stabilization work, like glute exercises on all fours, are good for the core too,” she says.

As for her diet, Herjavec is focusing on healthy eats, like Greek yogurt with berries, salmon and plenty of leafy greens, she says. But she’s no stranger to cravings! At first, she says, “I was really wanting chocolate croissants, which I never normally eat and I thought that was a bit weird.” Eventually, she replaced the baked good with toast and Nutella. She also cops to a fries phase: “I had to literally pull into McDonald’s and get French fries otherwise I felt like I was going to throw up,” she says. Now, the mom-to-be uses an air fryer, purchased with love by the hubs, to make fries: “It’s the best thing ever. It’s changed my life.

And though Herjavec intends to stay fit and active through the pregnancy and for the actual birth, she plans to give herself a bit of a pass when the twins arrive: “I think my focus will be on the babies once they’re born. I’ve waited so long to have a baby and now I’ve got two coming! I’m just going to enjoy that.”
