Something to celebrate! Jamie Lynn Spears has given birth to her first child with husband Jamie Watson — a baby girl.
“Baby Ivey Joan Watson is here,” Spears, 27, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, April 12.
As previously reported, the former Zoey 101 star actress announced her happy news in a sweet Instagram post in December 2017. She posted a pic of herself holding hands with Watson and her 9-year-old daughter, Maddie, who she shares with ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge. “Looks like we are starting off 2018 with another big milestone…sooo happy to announce that Maddie is FINALLY going to be a big sister,” she captioned the photo at the time.
She continued: “2017 was filled with some of the biggest challenges of my life, as well as some of the biggest blessings, so I made a choice to lay low this year to focus on truly becoming my best self as a person and as an artist. During that time, I continued working on my music and telling my story, which has created some of my most honest work and I CANT wait to share that with you all very soon. 2018 is going to be filled with many milestones both personally and professionally. I appreciate each of you for your patience and support through it all. 2018 has a lot coming, so GET READY.”
Some of the aforementioned challenges included a February 2017 accident in which Spears almost lost her daughter after she was involved in horrific ATV accident. Maddie was hospitalized after an off-road vehicle she was driving flipped over, leaving her underwater for several minutes. Though she was unconscious and airlifted to a nearby hospital, she has since made a full recovery.
Spears wed country singer Watson in 2014. Prior to her relationship with Watson, the former child actress made headlines when she got pregnant with her first child at the age of 16. The controversial news led Nickelodeon to cancel Zoey 101 in 2008 after four seasons.
