You’re wearing that!? Jenna Dewan gushed that she felt “chic” in a white Reem Acra jumpsuit on Saturday, November 10. But her daughter, Everly, 5, gave the look two thumbs down.
“She has a very opinionated fashion sense,” Dewan, 37, told Us Weekly and other reporters at the Baby2Baby Gala in Culver City, California. “She definitely does not like white. She was not a fan of this outfit tonight because she thinks white is boring. I was like, ‘No, no, honey. White is chic.’”
The Resident star suspected Evie would have approved of a design with more bling. “She loves sparkles,” Dewan explained. “I mean, just a typical 5-year-old, you know? Give her sparkles and she’s all about it.”
Dewan, Jennifer Garner, Ayesha Curry and Amy Adams were among the stars who gathered for Saturday night’s event that was sponsored by Paul Mitchell. Baby2Baby provides low-income children with diapers, clothing and other basic necessities such as crib sheets and beds.
Supporting Baby2Baby is a no brainer for Dewan. “Of course I want to help,” The Step Up actress explained, noting that the organization provides “instant help” with no questions asked.
Meanwhile, the former World of Dance host, who shares Everly with her estranged husband, Channing Tatum, wants to give the little girl a normal life.
“She’s been living on a set since she was 7-weeks-old, so she definitely understands what craft service is,” Dewan told Us and other reporters. “It’s a little bit different, but you’ve got to keep her as grounded and stabilized as possible.”
Dewan and the Magic Mike actor, 38, announced in April that they were splitting after nine years of marriage. She has since moved on with Broadway actor Steve Kazee while Tatum is dating British pop star Jessie J.
On Saturday, Dewan revealed that she is “very happy” in her new relationship.
