Keeping things seasonal! Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, celebrated their impending bundle of joy with a fall-themed fete in Highfill, Ark., on Thursday, Oct. 15 — and Us Weekly has the exclusive details!
According to a source close to the family, Duggar, 22, wanted the shower to be “family style,” so Seewald and other men in the family were also in attendance at the 100-plus guest celebration.

“Ever since Jill had her baby shower for Israel, Ben has been talking about this idea of a ‘guy-friendly shower,’” the source tells Us of the event, which was held in a Duggar family friend’s barn. “So he was definitely excited about this!”
The fun-filled evening included games like a milk-drinking competition for the men and a diaper-changing challenge for the women.
“They had a contest for the ladies in which they had to close their eyes and race to change a diaper on a baby doll,” the source says, adding that Duggar won the competition. “The final competition was one that Ben came up with. He and three of his friends had a contest to see who could make the best baby food!”
For light bites, the source tells Us that guests cooked their own hot dogs over a large fire pit and enjoyed a pumpkin-themed dessert bar, complete with “amazing pumpkin cake balls” and pumpkin and pecan pies.
In place of traditional baby shower gifts, the couple asked guests to bring a written prayer of blessing, which they plan to compile into a keepsake.
“As the party came to a close, everyone gathered around Ben and Jessa and prayed over them as a couple and for the little one,” the insider says. “This was such a special time!”
Duggar and Seewald first announced her pregnancy in April, and are expecting to meet their baby boy or girl on Nov. 1, though the couple have yet to reveal the gender of their baby.
“It’s hard for them to keep from saying ‘him’ or ‘her’!” the source says.
And just to keep their guests guessing too, Duggar and Seewald had two kinds of drinks available — pink lemonade and blue Hawaiian Punch.
