How long before he’s allowed to watch Where the Wild Things Are? Indie rocker Karen O recently welcomed her first child, a baby boy, and on Sunday, Sept. 27, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman, 36, shared the first photo of the newborn on Instagram.
“Shortly after we brought him home I held him in my arms and listened to Roberta Flack singing this tune I felt my heart exploding in my chest with a love I couldn’t begin to put into words so Roberta’s will have to do for now,” she captioned the black and white photo of her cradling her son.
She then wrote out some lyrics to Flack’s 1969 hit “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.”
Karen O did not reveal her baby’s name, but that comes as no surprise. The private singer kept her pregnancy a secret until she was already several months along. She simply arrived at the 30th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony show in April sporting a sizable baby bump.
The musician married director Barnaby Clay in 2011. The pair last attended a public event together at the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.
