Before royal baby no. 2 even arrives, pregnant Kate Middleton has already had her hands full with her (now walking) son Prince George! The Duchess of Cambridge, 33, is expected to give birth in April, and on Wednesday, March 11, made some of her final public appearances at the Turner Contemporary Art Museum and Resort Studios in Margate, Kent, England.
After greeting royal subjects outside the Turner Museum, Prince William’s wife, who has a degree in History of Art from the University of St. Andrews, visited the artists and students inside. Clad in a recycled Dalmatian-printed Hobbs coat and heels, she toured the gallery at eight months pregnant.
When congratulated about her soon-to-arrive baby by Harley Russel, a student at the University of Creative Arts in Canterbury, Middleton was spotted gently stroking her stomach and replying, “Not long now!”
And while she is surely excited to meet her new little boy or girl, the royal already has plenty on her plate with Prince George. While visiting Resort Studios, Middleton chatted with architect Tamsin Landells and her husband Tim Ratliff about her 19-month-old son, telling them she has to “chase after him” as he runs around.
When Margate resident Jenny Cranstone told Middleton she looked “very trim” for her eighth month, she replied, “I sometimes forget I’m pregnant.”
“I had five children, and I know how good she looks!” Cranstone later told reporters. “We both had a good laugh.”
In addition to chatting about the royal heir and future little one, the Duchess also inquired about artist Gavin Turk’s impressive facial hair.
“She immediately asked me about my beard and said that she was a bit concerned as her brother [James Middleton] was growing one,” Turk later said of his conversation with Kate. “She asked me how much care I needed to take of it and whether I had to oil it. She seemed quite fascinated. She was really nice, very personable, particularly under the circumstances.”
