Snip snip! Kelly Clarkson made her husband, Brandon Blackstock, get a vasectomy after she gave birth to their second child, Remi, this past April.
“I was literally pregnant with Remi, and I was like, ‘You are getting fixed. This will never happen to me again,'” Clarkson, 34, told Jenny McCarthy during an interview on her new SiriusXM show, The Jenny McCarthy Show, on Thursday, October 6. “If something happens, it’s a miracle of God. I literally told my OBGYN on the table while open, ‘If I get pregnant again, I will find you!'”
Clarkson reiterated to McCarthy she had horrible pregnancies. (The Grammy winner and Blackstock are parents of daughter River, 2, and Remi, 5 months.)
“It’s horrible. Nothing is beautiful, nothing is magical,” she said of her experience being pregnant. “Whatever, you’re that person that gets that pregnancy, good for you. But I will remind my children every day of their lives what I [went through].”
Clarkson previously revealed that she got ill daily while carrying both kids.
“I was, like, hospitalized both pregnancies,” she told McCarthy. “And then I thought, I wanted another little buddy [for River]. I didn’t want a kid to just be an odd man out because I felt like that a lot. I wanted her to have somebody her age, like when we’re traveling. And so I thought, ‘OK, we’ll just do it again.’ I was like, ‘There’s no way it can happen again,’ but it was worse. Remi’s pregnancy was worse than River’s.”
During a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres — the American Idol alum has been busy promoting her new children’s book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby — Clarkson told the talk show host she’s not having anymore kids.
“I already have days where I, like, cry, so we don’t need any more kids,” she said. “It’s a lot.”
