Being Maci Bookout isn't always easy. After the Sunday, Aug. 18 premiere of her MTV spin-off special, Being Maci, the former Teen Mom star faced some criticism from viewers for spanking her 5-year-old son, Bentley, on the show.
"I'm gonna catch a bunchaaa s–t for spanking bentley . . . #parenting," the 21-year-old mom tweeted Sunday night.
During the one-hour MTV special about her life after Teen Mom, Bookout was shown struggling to juggle school, work and parenting Bentley with ex-fiance Ryan Edwards. In one scene, Bookout and her roommates treated Bentley to bowling after picking him up from school. But the tiny tot threw a fit over having to take turns, so Bookout excused herself to the bathroom with him and allegedly gave him a spanking that was not shown on camera.
"I got spanked as a kid for being a brat when I knew better," she tweeted, "so questioning this is questioning my parents and I take offense to that."
The young mom also wrote, "If Being Maci showed y'all anything it's that no matter whats happened I'm still just BEING MACI. Nothing will ever change that #beingmaci."
