Cheers to baby boy Lopez! Mario Lopez and wife Courtney Lopez welcomed their second child, Dominic Lopez, in Los Angeles on Monday, Sept. 9. "Healthy" little Dominic weighed in at 7 lbs., 2 oz., the couple revealed in a statement via EXTRA early Tuesday. "Mother and baby are doing well," they added.
"It's a boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please welcome Dominic Lopez to the world!" the hunky TV host, 39, tweeted. "Couldn't be happier… @CourtneyMLopez & baby are doing just fine… :)" Dominic joins big sister Gia, 3. The proud papa was quick to fete his second child with libations.
"I am in heaven right now…. And in a bar. #CelebratingDominicLopez #BabyLopezNumber2," he tweeted about an hour following the birth announcement.
Mario and Courtney (maiden name: Mazza) wed in December 2012 and announced her second pregnancy in late February. The X Factor host admitted to Us he was hoping for a boy. "I already have a girl, so if we have a boy that would be nice," he told Us shortly after the announcement. "But I won't be disappointed if we don't."
Then-pregnant actress Courtney said she felt "feel prepared in a way" for baby number two. "Although I'm hoping it's like riding a bike and that I'll just remember what I did with Gia, because now all the newborn stuff she obviously doesn't need anymore. So I try to think what did I use for this and how did I know that. Hopefully it'll come back to me."
