“It sucks and it still sucks. What we went through is the worst possible thing you can go through as a parent and maybe as a human being,” the 43-year-old jazz singer told Australia’s Today show on Thursday, October 4. Bublé’ added that there were days in which he and wife Luisana Lopilato “were just surviving, struggling to survive, and to breathe.”

He continued: “I much rather would have it have been me. Many times I wish that it had been.”

The four-time Grammy winner and Argentinian actress, 31, were overwhelmed by the support they received from loved ones and strangers. “Some days when we wished we didn’t wake up, when we did, we felt the love of those people,” Bublé recalled, while fighting tears.. “We knew they were praying for us, we knew that there was goodness out there. It gave us faith in humanity.”
