Pregnant Scandal actress Kerry Washington and her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, rarely pose for photos together, but they made an exception for President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday, April 30, in Washington, D.C. The Victoria by Victoria Beckham–clad star, who tried to mask her bump on the red carpet earlier in the day with a strategically placed Jimmy Choo clutch, didn’t try to hide her bump behind anything as she posed alongside the president and his wife in a picture exclusive to Us Weekly.
As Us Weekly reported earlier, the 39-year-old actress is expecting her second child with Asomugha, and debuted her burgeoning belly while on the red carpet for the United Way of Greater Los Angeles Women’s Summit on Monday, April 25.
The fiercely private Washington and her former NFL cornerback husband, 34, are already the parents of daughter Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha, 2. The pair tied the knot in a hush-hush wedding ceremony in Hailey, Idaho, in June 2013.
TVLine reported that Washington’s pregnancy may delay Scandal’s season 6 return. As the site noted, the star’s first pregnancy occurred during the taping of season 3, which led to fewer episodes. ABC is set to announce its fall schedule in two weeks.
But don’t expect any baby updates from Washington. “She never talks about her personal life,” a source tells Us. “Occasionally she’ll let something slip like, ‘Oh, my husband really likes that show,’ into a conversation, but she really doesn’t talk about her family at all.”
