Commence the sleepless nights! Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden gave birth to her and husband Chris O’ Neill’s third child, a daughter, on Friday, March 9, in Stockholm.
The little girl weighed 7.6 pounds and measured 19.7 inches at birth. “Both mother and child are in a good health,” the Swedish Royal Court announced in a statement obtained by The Local Sweden.
American-British financier O’Neill added that the baby’s siblings — Leonore, 4, and Nicolas, 2 — “are looking very much forward to finally meeting their new little sister.”
Though the 35-year-old mom resides in London, where O’Neill runs a company, she flew home to Sweden for the birth.
Madeleine first announced she was expecting baby No. 3 on her Facebook page in August, saying the family of four were looking forward to becoming five.
The couple, who have been been married four years, want a large brood — meaning there could even be a fourth bundle of joy in coming years. “We want to have more children,” O’Neill told Swedish outlet Expressen in July 2016. “One or two more in the future, absolutely.”
Madeleine met O’Neill, who has no royal title, when she was working for her mother’s charity in New York.
Madeleine can most likely expect a baby gift from pal and fellow Swed Malin Akerman. “Princess Madeleine is absolutely lovely and is just, I hate to say, a regular girl, but she’s a regular girl who is wonderful and a little bit more poised than most of us,” the Billions actress told Hello magazine in October. “She’s great. A really cool girl.”
Now royal watchers can turn their attention to Duchess Kate. She and Prince William are expecting their third child in April.
