Mommy's little activist! Kristin Davis' daughter, Gemma Rose, is just 4 years old, but she's already out to save the world. The Sex and the City star, 50, is raising her daughter to be as eco-conscious as she is, and Gemma is apparently more than up for the challenge.
"My daughter is very involved in the drought," Davis told Us Weekly and other reporters at the Environmental Media Awards earlier this month, referring to California's ongoing, years-long water crisis. "She's like, 'Mommy, you're wasting water!' I'm like, 'Good job!' Her school is actively teaching her about it. It's pretty impressive!"
Davis — a noted animal advocate — tries to lead by example, with little things like turning off the lights and bigger things like equipping her home with solar power.
"It's an ongoing process. It's one of those things where you have to think positively about it…we're not going to all be Ed Begley Jr.," she quipped of the ultra environmentally friendly actor, who literally wrote the book on green living.
That certainly won't stop Davis and her daughter from trying, though. The Bad Teacher alum said she wants to instill in Gemma a sense of responsibility and awareness.
"You know what, you kind of have to be [an activist]. I mean, there are so many things unfolding around us every day that I think you really need to be in touch with that. You want your children to be in touch with that as well," Davis shared at the EMA Awards. "It's their world. We're just living in it. If we're going to give it to them, we need to try to take care of it a little bit better for them."
