#Twinning! Ava and Deacon Phillippe are the spitting images of their A-list parents, former couple Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon.
The Shooter star, 44, shared a sweet Instagram snapshot with his look-alike youngsters while celebrating his birthday on Monday, September 10. “Me n mine,” Ryan captioned the photo.
The Secrets and Lies alum frequently shares pictures of his youngsters via the app. When Ava celebrated her 19th birthday on Sunday, September 9, Ryan posted an adorable message to her, writing, “Love you, punk. Such a proud dadish.”
Back in November 2016, he poked fun at his uncanny resemblance to his children. “One thing that I know my daughter gets embarrassed by sometimes is the fact that I do look so young and I get mistaken for her brother at times, which repulses her,” he told James Corden at the time. “It absolutely repulses her that anyone could mistake me for being her brother.”
Ryan became a father at a young age, welcoming his daughter at age 25, after he and Witherspoon, now 42, fell in love while costarring in 1999’s Cruel Intentions. They got married that same year and split in 2007. “I was ready to be a young father because I grew up raising kids,” he told Corden of working at his mother’s daycare in his youth. “I would teach the kids to swim, I would do magic shows for them.”
Witherspoon, for her part, recently shared a similar sentiment. “I got married when I was 23 and I had two kids by the time I was 27,” the Big Little Lies star said on ITV’s Lorraine show in September 2017, noting that she “would never change anything” about her romance with Phillippe. “It’s about the next chapter in your life. What do you do when you get to 40 and you’ve made a decision when you were 25 to get married and have kids?”
The Home Again actress has since moved on with Jim Toth. The duo wed in 2011 and share 5-year-old son Tennessee. Meanwhile, Phillippe split from fiancée Paulina Slagter in November 2016 after five years together. He was then linked to Playboy model Elsie Hewitt in the summer of 2017, but denied having “a ‘girlfriend for over a year now’ in November 2017 shortly after Hewitt accused him of assault, allegations that he has also since denied.
