Scarlett Johansson Names Daughter Rose Dorothy, Coincidental Nod to The Golden Girls

As previously reported, Scarlett Johansson and her fiance Romain Dauriac recently welcomed their first child -- did she name her baby girl after The Golden Girls?

Blanche Sophia just doesn’t sound as nice! As previously reported, Scarlett Johansson and her fiance Romain Dauriac recently welcomed their first child together. A source confirms to Us Weekly that the couple named their baby girl Rose Dorothy, which just happens to also be two of the best gals from The Golden Girls!

Betty White played free spirited and naive Rose Nylund on the TV classic from 1985 to 1992. The late Bea Arthur took on the role of Dorothy Zbornak, who complimented the cast with her uptight attitude and dry sense of humor. The late Estelle Getty (Sophia Petrillo) and Rue McClanahan (Blanche Devereaux) filled out the foursome as widowed and divorced women living under the same roof.

It turns out, however, the geriatric baby name was just a funny coincidence. The insider tells Us that the Jungle Book actress named her bundle of joy after her grandmother.

As for Johansson, she seems to be settling into motherhood just fine. “Mother and daughter are doing well,” her rep told the Associated Press. Us confirmed in September 2013 that she and French journalist Dauriac got engaged after a 10-month whirlwind romance.
