Glow for it, girl! Zoe Saldana has always been gorgeous, but she’s looking especially radiant in light of the news that she’s pregnant with her first child. The Guardians of the Galaxy star, 36, was a vision in burgundy as she arrived at Good Morning America on Monday, July 28, to promote her new movie.
Saldana—married to Italian artist Marco Perego since 2013—rocked a drop-waist shirtdress that showed off her growing baby bump. She kept her hair and makeup simple, opting for loose waves and rosy cheeks. See more pics of Zoe’s baby bump.
As Us Weekly exclusively reported on July 23, the Star Trek Into Darkness actress is set to welcome her first child this winter. She didn’t speak about her pregnancy on GMA, but she did go into detail about preparing for her role as Gamora in Marvel’s latest superhero flick.
Explaining how she modeled Gamora’s moves after a bullfighter, Saldana said, “We were having dinner with one of [Marco’s] art colleagues, and she was showing us her latest art expo, and it was about a bullfighter. She was taping this bullfighter dancing in slow motion, the dance of death, sort of seducing the bull. And it was the most graceful form of dance. And that was around the time when I was pondering whether or not I was going to do Guardians.”
Ultimately, of course, she embraced the role of Gamora—but initially, she was wary of appearing in yet another sci-fi/fantasy franchise. (In addition to Star Trek and Guardians of the Galaxy, she starred as Pandora native Neytiri in James Cameron‘s Avatar.)
“It was difficult at first, because I didn’t want to do just films that take place in space, back to back. But they come in such beautiful packages,” she said. “So I thought it would be stupid of me to pass on this amazing opportunity just out of fear of what others may think or [of] being boxed.”
