Duff and husband Mike Comrie announced they were separating after four years of marriage in January 2014. At the time, a source told Us "the spark was no longer there" and that "they are better as friends." They finalized their divorce in January 2016.

Despite splitting in January 2014, Duff and Comrie still spend almost every day together with their son. In fact, one month after announcing their split, the pair spent Valentine's Day as a trio and took a family vacation to Hawaii. Duff shared with fans: "#modernfamily #vacation."

After taking a five year break from releasing music, Duff made her comeback with single "Chasing the Sun" in July 2014.

The actress took on the role of Kelsey Peters in TVLand’s Younger, which premiered in 2015. She’d join costars Sutton Foster and Nico Tortorella on set as she traveled back and forth between L.A. and NYC to film the series.

Following her split from Comrie, the star dated trainer Jason Walsh. "It was definitely my first more serious relationship since my ex-husband,” she’d later tell Cosmopolitan. On going public with him, she added: “I was like, 'f—k it. He's my boyfriend.' I just needed to make sure it was right.” They split in November 2016 after several months of dating.

Hilary made her red carpet debut with Matthew Koma at a pre–SAG Awards party at Chateau Marmont Hotel in West Hollywood in January 2017, two years after they collaborated on her album Breathe In. Breathe Out. She and the singer split that March, but reconciled months later.

The couple announced in June 2018 that they were expecting their first child together – a baby girl. “Guess what guys! @matthewkoma and I made a little princess of our own and we couldn’t be more excited!!!!!!,” she wrote, days after sister Haylie welcomed daughter Lulu.

The Disney alum and Koma welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Banks Violet Bair, on October 25, 2018.  “This little bit has fully stolen our hearts!” Duff wrote on Instagram. “She joined our world at home on Thursday afternoon and is absolute magic.”
