Pregnant Catelynn Lowell Reveals She and Tyler Baltierra ‘Both Want a Boy for Sure’

Catelynn Lowell is bumpin’ along! The pregnant Teen Mom OG star shared her beautiful maternity photos taken by her husband, Tyler Baltierra, exclusively with Us Weekly and revealed the couple are both hoping for a baby boy. “I think we both want a boy for sure, but also we have Nova,” Lowell, 26, told Us, referring to the duo’s 3-year-old daughter. “So it’s, like, if we’re just meant to have girls, we’re meant to have girls.” Us broke the news on September 13 that Lowell is pregnant. The longtime couple, who wed in 2015, placed their eldest daughter, Carly, now 9, for adoption in 2009. Lowell added: “With Carly too, it’s like Tyler just makes girls. Seeing Pink or Blue?

“I did an early blood test called Sneak Peek,” Lowell explained to Us. “I think I did it too early … but I did it right at 10 weeks and I guess you’re supposed to wait a little longer than 10 weeks.”

Getting the Facts 

The MTV star added that she and Baltierra will find out the baby’s gender for sure at an upcoming 4-D ultrasound appointment “if the baby cooperates during the ultrasound.”

Rainbow Baby

Lowell revealed during a February episode of Teen Mom OG that she suffered a miscarriage. The reality TV personality referred to her current pregnancy as “our rainbow baby.” Rainbow babies are children born after miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal loss or infant or child loss.

A New Blessing  

“It was a huge shock at first,” Lowell previously admitted to Us. “We were not planning it, especially after the miscarriage and how I went downhill with my mental illness.”

Breaking the News

Lowell revealed that she and Baltierra found out she was pregnant at the same time. “At first, Tyler was very shocked and nervous, but he obviously came around to it and was super pumped once the initial shock wore off and it sunk in,” she explained.

“He’s obviously just as happy as I am,” Lowell gushed. “We love being parents and can’t wait for our newest addition.”

The Dad Side of Things 

"I was actually just scared at first and nervous since we were using protection,” Baltierra, 26, admitted to Us. “After the initial shock wore off, I starting getting excited due to the fact that the universe obviously wanted this baby to come into the world no matter what! And after the miscarriage, this is truly a blessing ... like every child!”
