A family man. While Tristan Thompson's personal life has often raised eyebrows, the NBA player is also a devoted father, brother and son. The athlete's late mom, Andrea Thompson, reflected on the inspiration behind her eldest son’s work ethic in a 2011 piece for the Toronto Star. “Trevor is a truck driver. I drive a school bus," Andrea wrote, referring to Tristan's father. "We work hard. In life you have to work hard to receive your blessing, everybody knows that. Tristan saw us always working hard, and he wanted to get ahead." Andrea remembered having "fun" traveling for Tristan's tournaments along with his three younger brothers: Dishawn, Daniel and Amari. The Indiana Pacers player, for his part, recalled the sacrifices his mom made for her children and the determination she demonstrated as a parent. “Daniel was crying, and he wouldn't stop, so I think he was hungry,” Tristan said of one road trip the family went on in a "blizzard" in an interview with LeBron James' Uninterrupted brand. remembering how his mom breast-fed his little brother while still driving. Kardashian — who welcomed daughter True and a son with Tristan in April 2018 and July 2022, respectively — paid tribute to her ex’s mom via Instagram after attending Andrea's funeral. Dancing and singing and probably yelling ‘who does that!!’ because we are crying at your loss.” The Good American cofounder promised Andrea that she would look after Tristan’s brother Amari, who suffers from epilepsy. “I know you never wanted to leave your boys. They are your entire world. They will learn to live with the hole in their hearts because they are warriors just like their warrior mommy,” the California native added in her emotional tribute. “Just know, I promise you, Amari will be perfectly ok. We will all look after him, help him and protect him. Your boys will be ok because they have their guardian Angel by their side.” Tristan previously spoke about his relationship with Amari during a March 2022 interview with NBC Sports. “My younger brother fights each and every day. Andrea Thompson

The Thompson family matriarch died unexpectedly in January 2023 after suffering a heart attack while at home in Canada, per TMZ. Tristan frequently shared sweet photos with his mom via social media.

In 2011, Andrea wrote a piece for the Toronto Star about raising her ambitious son. "It was fun, really," she said of going to Tristan's youth basketball tournaments before her went pro. "We went all over the place to watch him play. I would take off work three days at a time, losing money I didn’t have, but you have to support your kids."

Trevor Thompson

Though Tristan's Instagram account often featured photos of his mom, his dad appears less frequently. Andrea revealed to the Toronto Star in 2011 that Trevor made a living as a truck driver.

She added: "Trevor and I took the kids all over the U.S. for AAU tournaments and many times we were the only parents. You can’t leave your kids to other people."

Dishawn Thompson

Tristan’s brother is four years his junior. “Happy 22nd Birthday to my little brother @realdishawn10 !!” the former Cleveland Cavaliers player wrote via Facebook in May 2017. “It's a big mon ting now you zee it.”

Daniel Thompson

Daniel is Tristan's second younger brother. In a 2020 Mother’s Day tribute, the power forward recalled witnessing a special moment between Andrea and Daniel while en route to a tournament.

Amari Thompson

Amari was born in 2006 and is an epilepsy survivor. In March 2022, Tristan teamed up with the Epilepsy Foundation to auction off a signed jersey and pair of sneakers in honor of his little brother.

“My younger brother fights each and every day. Most 16-year-olds can enjoy life and have the freedom and be able to experience things with their peers. It’s harder for him,” Tristan explained at the event. “He motives me. Why not keep working each day? There’s no reason for me not to get up and push to be not only a better basketball player but a better human being.”

Prince Tristan welcomed his eldest child, son Prince, with ex Jordan Craig in December 2016. The former Chicago Bulls player frequently shares sweet snaps of Prince via social media.

Kardashian gave birth to her first baby with Tristan in April 2018 after he was caught cheating on the Revenge Body alum while she was pregnant.

Two days after Christmas 2022, Tristan shared a heartwarming video of him and True dancing via Instagram. "When my princess asks if daddy can dance…anything for my baby girl ❤️👑," he captioned the footage.

Maralee Nichols sued Tristan for child support after claiming he got her pregnant in early 2021 while he was still dating Kardashian. (The on-off couple called it quits later that year.) Us Weekly broke the news in December 2021 that Nicols gave birth to son Theo.

In January 2022, Tristan confirmed his paternity after taking a DNA test. “Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions,” the former Sacramento Kings playe wrote via his Instagram Stories at the time. “Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.”

Tristan and Kardashian have yet to reveal the name of their baby boy, whom they welcomed via surrogate in July 2022. The then-couple did the embryo transfer in November 2021 before news broke of Tristan’s paternity suit.

Following their son's arrival, a source exclusively told Us: “Khloé and Tristan are coparenting, but not speaking [outside] of coparenting, that is the only communication they have anymore.
