Kourtney Kardashian has a sleek and sexy new body just in time for bikini season. Since welcoming baby Mason, her son with boyfriend Scott Disick, last December 14, Kourtney has shed 33 pounds from her 5-foot-1 frame and flaunted her post-baby figure in body-conscious clothes. The E! reality star, 31, attributes her weight loss to healthy lifestyle habits and QuickTrim, the dietary supplement for which sisters Kim and Khloe are spokespeople. Still, when asked who has the best beach body out there, she quipped, "I think Mason!"

Here are three easy tips to help new moms safely shape up and slim down after baby.

Make a Plan
Ease yourself into a routine right after giving birth, with a doctor's OK. "It is possible to get started right away, to do it in a healthy way and to get that baby weight off quickly," says Jackie Keller, author of Body After Baby. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, most women can resume light exercise, such as walking, within days of delivery. (The 30 percent of women who undergo C-sections usually have to wait about six weeks.) Once your doctor gives you the all-clear, swap your gentle walks for a more strenuous routine including a resistance training. Enlist friends and family members to take care of baby while you work out, or get creative and make your little one your workout partner. Which leads us to the next tip….

Work Out with Baby
You can get cardio in by pushing a stroller on walks around the neighborhood (30 to 60 minutes most day is recommended for weight loss). For a total-body workout while bonding with your baby, hold him or her in your arms while you perform simple squats, calf raises and ab squeezes. To strengthen your core and help slim down your midsection, exercise physiologist and nutritionist Martica Heaner, Ph.D. recommends using visualization. Imagine that you have a ribbon woven in and around your ribcage. Close your eyes and imagine pulling on the ends of the ribbon to compress the entire area so that your ribcage narrows. Hold the tightened torso for as long as you comfortably can while you breathe normally. Then relax and repeat." Want more exercise inspiration? Visit the Fit Zone on MSN Health & Fitness.

Get Smart About Food
Kourtney attributes her weight loss in part to making healthy food swaps. "I was eating a lot of dried fruit, and I didn't realize how much sugar that added. And now I'll eat raw almonds instead of salted ones," she writes on her blog. Fight off hunger pangs and feel fuller longer with weight loss superfoods such as eggs, oatmeal, apples and almonds. Meals with "slow-release" carbohydrates, which sustain your energy for longer, such as oatmeal or bran flakes, can help you burn more fat when you exercise, according to a recent study in the Journal of Nutrition. And isn't burning more fat what it's all about?
