Yum! Baker, caterer and Gilmore Girls fan Kristi Carlson is working on a new cookbook inspired by the distinctive eating habits of Rory, Lorelai and the rest of the Gilmore gang.
Just in time for Netflix’s reboot of the beloved CW series, Carlson has created a Kickstarter campaign and is asking fellow fans to assist her in raising funds so she can release Eat Like a Gilmore, her collection of recipes the chefs of Stars Hollow would approve of.

“I’ve already spent a few months experimenting with these foods — to test the feasibility of this endeavor,” Carlson wrote of her cookbook, which includes Gilmore Girls staples such as s’mores wedding cake and pumpkin pancakes. “And, let me tell you, the results have all been utterly delicious.”
Carlson’s book will be comprised of three parts: “foods from a small-town diner,” “foods served at fancy Friday night dinners” and “foods served at charming, eclectic, independent inns.”

The food enthusiast is well on her way to collecting her goal of $20,000 to help get the cookbook on shelves. She had hoped to raise the full amount in 25 days, and is already at more than $16,000 before her pledge expires on April 16. The book is expected to hit stores in December 2016 — meaning you could be eating like a patron of Luke’s Diner or the Dragonfly Inn by Christmas.
“This project is specifically designed for people like me – who love the same two things — and who recognize that food is its own quirky, ever-present character in that world,” Carlson added.
