Ack! Shania Twain Takes Nasty Fall on CMTs

Graceful no matter what!

Shania Twain took a nasty, painful-looking spill Wednesday night at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville. Approaching the stage to present Blake Shelton with his trophy for Male Video of the Year, the country star, 45, looked radiant and cheerful as always.

But, thanks to a recently waxed floor and high heels, Twain lost her footing and fell — hard! — as fans looked on. She quickly dusted herself off and ascended the stage to applause.

Minutes after the wipeout, the "Still the One" beauty gabbed about the gaffe in a video message to fans on her Twitter page.

"I just made a complete fool of myself and experienced one of life's most embarrassing moments," said the flustered, recently remarried star. "I don't need a stunt double," she quipped.

More importantly, she confirmed, "I didn't hurt myself. I have a bit of a sore thumb — that's it."

The culprit may have been her high-heeled shoes. "I'm gonna auction off those shoes. I'm gonna get rid of them as soon as I can. I never want to see those shoes again!"

Earlier on Wednesday, Twain announced big plans to headline a two-year engagement at Caesars Colosseum in Las Vegas, beginning in December 2012.
