Man vs. everyone! Man vs. Food's Adam Richman came under fire earlier this week when he got into a heated argument with several tweeters. The Travel Channel star went as far as dropping the C-word and telling another to "grab a razor blade & draw a bath," but has since apologized for his actions.

"I want to apologize for my inexcusable remarks. My behavior was unbecoming and unacceptable. I've long struggled with my body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight," he told Us Weekly in a statement.

"Instead of responding to comments with compassion, I lashed out in anger," he continued. "I'm not asking for sympathy, but rather understanding and forgiveness. I can say with certainty that I'm taking a deep look at myself and I'm incredibly sorry to everyone I've hurt."

According to Mediate, the Twitter bashing first began when Richman, 40, posted a selfie via Instagram. "Had ordered this suit from a Saville Row tailor over a year ago. Think I'm gonna need to take it in a little…. #Victory #EyesOnThePrize #AnythingIsPossible #fitness #transformation #thinspiration," he wrote. A blogger named Amber from the site Adipose Activist then wrote she "never liked Adam," which led to a nasty exchange between Richman and several others. The comments have since been deleted.

Richman hosted the series Man vs. Food, where he took on food challenges around the world, for four seasons until its end in April 2012. He since has lost a whopping 70 pounds, and showed off his accomplishment by posing naked for Cosmopolitan's UK July 2014 issue. In Men's Health last December, he wrote a personal essay on how he struggled with weight gain and health issues while shooting the food series.
