Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s legal battle is far from over. The Danish Girl actress was a no-show for a recent deposition regarding their divorce case, Us Weekly can confirm.
Heard, 30, and Depp, 53, were due in court on Friday, August 12, at 10 a.m. According to legal documents, however, an emergency came up and she couldn’t make it.
“To no fault of her own, Amber was unable to arrange for a flight to travel from London to Los Angeles,” the docs read. “The airline flight available to her arrives midday on Friday, August 12.”
Heard and Depp’s deposition has since been rescheduled for Saturday. “The date has been agreed upon,” the statement continues. Counsel for Depp confirmed his availability.
As previously reported, Heard and the Yoga Hosers actor haven’t been in the same room together since the actress filed for divorce in May after more than a year of marriage. Heard, who accused Depp of domestic violence and was granted a temporary restraining order against him, allegedly showed up late to a prior deposition on August 6 and refused to testify.
“Johnny wants to settle and they are working on a settlement,” a source told Us earlier this month. “But Amber showed up 90 minutes late for her deposition and then refused to give her deposition. [She’s] delaying this because she wants more money.”
A Heard source, however, claimed that she was ready to make a deal. “Although Amber was ready, willing and able to go forward with her deposition, it was not taken by Johnny’s attorneys,” the insider told Us. “She waited for 10 hours and at no time did Amber ever refuse to start the deposition.”
