AnnaSophia Robb Prays For Her Alma Mater, Arapahoe High School, After School Shooting: “My Heart Hurts So Much Right Now”

AnnaSophia Robb speaks out after a school shooting at her alma mater, Arapahoe High School in Colorado.

Almost a year after the horrific school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, 18-year-old Karl Pierson opened fire at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado on Dec. 13, leaving one girl critically injured and eventually killing himself. Arapahoe alum AnnaSophia Robb watched the news updates in horror as she saw students of her alma mater scrambling to exit the school and crying in terror.  

The 20-year-old CW star, who currently plays Carrie Bradshaw on the Sex and the City prequel show, The Carrie Diaries, took to Twitter to express her dismay at the news.

She begged her fans to pray for the high school as reports started rolling in of the gunman's destruction. 

"Please ?#pray? for ?#ArapahoeHigh?- don't know exactly what is going on there with the shooter but Lord keep the kids and faculty safe," she wrote

The young star, who appeared in the 2013 indie flick The Way Way Back, expressed heartache over the terror going on at the school she used to attend.

"My heart hurts so much right now for my alma mater ?#ArapahoeHighSchool? '?#Warriors? always take care of each other,'" she wrote

She then made a call out for stricter gun control laws. 

"Let's get our ?#guns? under control ?#america?. We need stricter laws. This is crazy ?#ArapahoeHighSchool?," she wrote. "We need 2 b proactive abt caring 4 one another & being a friend 2 those who have none.Life is 2 fragile, 2 precious.?#Arapahoe? ?#Colorado?."
