Bachelor Season 19 Winner: Chris Soules Picks Whitney Bischoff!

Chris Soules had a tough decision on The Bachelor.

The final rose is finally accepted! Chris Soules wrapped his season of The Bachelor on Monday, March 9, closing out the 19th installment of the reality show with a romantic proposal.

After whittling his dating pool down from 30 women over the course of two months on air, the Iowan farmer struggled to choose between the final two competitors: Whitney Bischoff and Becca Tilley

"I didn't just have one girl that I was really interested [in] and know that the decisions I had to make were going to be manageable," Soules told Us Weekly of his decision-making process in the last few weeks at the taping of The Bachelor's "Women Tell All" special. "I just didn’t know."

Soules spent plenty of his time away from the women wrestling with the decision.

"Lots of sleepless nights, sleepless flights, and waking up with your heart beating 7 million miles per hour and hyperventilating," he added. "Or feeling like you just can't breathe because you’re so stressed out."

Soules did finally make his choice, and proposed to Bischoff in the finale of The Bachelor. The romantic moment took place in the barn on Soules' property as he presented her with a glittery engagement ring designed by Neil Lane himself.

The Iowan farmer picked Bischoff after saying goodbye to Tilley, a chiropractic assistant to whom he had grown particularly close. In the final days, however, she didn't show the same level of commitment as Bischoff, and her inexperience came through as she expressed doubts.

"I think they both have great personalities," Soules, 33,  told Us at "Women Tell All" of the two women. "Whitney lives in Chicago, that’s convenient for me, that’s a place that I am close to that I visit, my sisters live near there. Becca lives in San Diego, and not really sure if she’s willing to move from there. Whitney has said that she’s willing to move."

"Becca has never been in love," added Soules, who was looking for his future wife to relocate to his tiny hometown of Arlington, Iowa. "Whitney has told me she loves me, and she’s close to 30 years old, she’s 29, she’s ready to be in love, ready to be married, and ready to have kids. Becca is kind of uncertain with all of those — those are big things when it comes to a relationship and when you’re wanting to be married. Those are kind of the main things."

In the finale, Soules continued to raise questions about Tilley as his relationship with Bischoff grew more serious (and his parents completely fell in love with her!). Bischoff continued to voice her certainty in the pair's relationship and promised a family in Iowa, while Tilley struggled to say she was in love with Soules and voiced hesitation about relocating.

"I'm still in love," Soules gushed to Us of Bischoff, adding that he and the fertility nurse are "working on establishing a relationship outside of this crazy world we just went through."
