Blues legend B.B. King was rushed to the hospital over Easter weekend in Las Vegas, TMZ reported on Monday, April 6. According to the site, the iconic guitarist, 89, suffered a complication related to his type II diabetes.
That complication, a source told TMZ, was dehydration, which King also experienced last fall. After falling ill during an October performance at the House of Blues in Chicago, he was forced to cancel the remaining eight performances on his tour.
"I'm back at home now listening to music, watching movies, and enjoying some down time," he said at the time. "I think I'm busier at home now than on the road talking to friends calling to check up on me. I do appreciate everyone's calls and concern. I want to tell you, I'm doing alright."
King's rep confirmed that the musician was hospitalized this weekend, telling TMZ that he remained in treatment at a medical center in Vegas.
