Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are drafting their dream-day team. The pair of one year are “starting to finalize” wedding arrangements,” a source close to the couple reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. “They’ve met with vendors.”
Though the 47-year-old mom of sons Kingston, 10, Zuma, 8, and Apollo, 2 (with ex Gavin Rossdale), and the Voice coach, 40 (who split from wife Miranda Lambert in July 2015), have yet to publicly confirm their engagement, a second pal insists they hope to marry “before the end of the year.”
Stefani recently opened up about the demise of her marriage and finding new love in Glamour’s December issue. “Sometimes to be woken up again in life, you need to go through some really bad, hard times,” she told the mag. “I feel like I got woken up this year.
The “Used to Love You” singer went on to admit that she felt like a “failure” when her 13-year marriage imploded last August. (Stefani has never gone into specifics about what went wrong, but Us Weekly broke the news last November that Rossdale had been cheating on her with their children’s nanny Mindy Mann.)
“The intention of being married is the vow, right?” she said, noting that her parents just celebrated their 50th anniversary. “You want to put everything into it to make it a success.”
Stefani, who will rejoin Shelton on The Voice next season, added she’s in a “new place,” thanks to her love. “He was a friend when I needed a friend,” she gushed. “An unexpected gift.”
Shelton can be equally gooey. In August, he told Late Night host Seth Meyers he couldn’t believe Stefani would date him. “I thought she must have, like, some vision problems,” joked the country star. “Maybe she needs help, I don’t know.”
