Blake is backkkk. Two days after his divorce from Miranda Lambert was finalized, Blake Shelton tweeted on Wednesday, July 22, that he was back in the coach’s chair for his smash reality competition series, The Voice.

While Shelton, 39, will most likely continue his competition-fueled bromance with Adam Levine on the series, one key aspect will be missing: The “Honey Bee” singer will no longer refer affectionately to his now-ex-wife, whom he once frequently brought up on the show.
Lambert, 31, was also a mentor on The Voice on two separate occasions — once helping out on Shelton’s team, and another time as part of Team Shakira.
Shelton’s return to the coach’s chair comes two days after he announced his split from his wife of four years in a statement released to Us Weekly on Monday, July 20. “This is not the future we envisioned,” the couple told Us. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately.” Hours later, the country superstars finalized their divorce.
The following day, Shelton broke his silence via Twitter with a lighthearted update blasted to his nearly 13 million followers.
“Just got off the treadmill. This calls for a drink,” he wrote, adding his trademark tagline of “Bitch…” to the end of his tweet. One fan noted that she could not envision the country crooner on a treadmill, which prompted Shelton to reply: “It looked like one of those messin’ with Sasquatch commercials…”
Despite his seemingly carefree commentary, Shelton has been battling with his emotions since he filed for divorce on July 6. (Us Weekly obtained records of the couple’s official divorce filing on Tuesday, July 21, but the details were sealed under the term of “petition for protective order.”)
A source close to Shelton tells Us in the new issue that the Oklahoma native is “really broken up” over his divorce. “Just devastated.”
Meanwhile, Lambert has been struggling with the split on her own. “She’s very heartbroken,” another insider tells Us. “Sad and confused.”
