Twelve days after Bobbi Kristina Brown was found facedown and unresponsive in a bathtub, her aunt Leolah Brown claimed in a new interview on Wednesday, Feb. 11, that her niece has opened her eyes.

Bobby Brown‘s sister gave the sit-down interview to Atlanta’s Fox 5 station, recalling how arduous the journey has been for the Brown family.

“I was very numb when I saw her,” Leolah recalled of when she first saw her brother’s daughter after the incident. “It’s been very, very painful for everybody. Mainly Bobby, because that’s his baby.”

Leolah told the station that the family was “hopeful” about Bobbi Kristina’s outcome. “There are so many signs showing us that she will be okay, in spite of what people are saying over the Internet,” she remarked. “Krissi is fine, as I sit here today.”

When pressed further about what this means, Leolah said her niece was in fact “still on life support.” However, she claimed: “We know that she’s opening her eyes, that’s true. There’s a few more things that she’s doing. Krissi is doing well right now.”

The only daughter of Bobby and the late Whitney Houston has remained in a medically induced coma since Jan. 31, when she was found by friend Max Lomas, facedown in a bathtub in her home in Roswell, Ga. According to police, her longtime love Nick Gordon was performing CPR on Bobbi when paramedics arrived at the scene.

As previously reported by Us, Gordon — who is currently under investigation for unexplained injuries found on Bobbi Kristina’s body — has not returned to visit his love in Emory University Hospital since she was transferred from North Fulton Hospital last Monday, Feb. 2. The reason remains unclear, but it was confirmed by Us on Wednesday that Bobbi and Nick’s neighbor reported a domestic dispute one week before the bathtub incident took place.

Leolah refused to comment on Wednesday about Bobbi’s alleged injuries.

Meanwhile, the Roswell Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly on Wednesday that Bobbi Kristina’s case is being treated as a criminal investigation. “The incident has always been under criminal investigation and has not been reclassified as a criminal investigation,” the statement read. “This remains an active investigation.”

Both Houston and Brown families have congregated at Emory as they monitor and pray for Bobbi’s condition. On Monday, Feb. 9, a candlelight vigil was held and attended by hundreds of supporters. Reports speculated that the family would take Bobbi off life support on the third anniversary of Whitney Houston‘s death on Wednesday, Feb. 11, but a Houston family source previously debunked the rumors to Us.

Bobby Brown’s lawyer Christopher Brown also slammed “egregious, false” reports about Bobbi’s condition in a new statement to Us on Tuesday. “This is a criminal investigation,” the family lawyer noted, “and the integrity of that process requires silence.”
