A tense and somber Bobby Brown stepped out of the Emory University Hospital for fresh air on Feb. 5, as his daughter Bobbi Kristina remains in a coma.
On his 46th birthday, Bobby was joined by Gary Michael Houston, the nephew of his late ex-wife Whitney Houston. The father of five kids — Bobbi Kristina, Landon, LaPrincia, Bobby Jr., and Cassius — was dressed comfortably in gray sweatpants and a matching hoodie. With temperatures ranging in the mid-40s in Atlanta, Brown stuffed his hands in both pockets to shield them from the cold.
When asked by Access Hollywood outside the hospital how Bobbi Kristina is doing, Brown responded, "She's good," before adding, "We're praying."
An observer tells Us Weekly that after spending the entire day at the hospital, Bobby left around 4 p.m. in a black SUV with his wife Alicia Etheredge.
Brown has been at his daughter's bedside mostly around the clock after she was found unresponsive, facedown in a bathtub in her home this past Saturday. As previously reported by Us, Hollywood power player Tyler Perry (a Brown family friend) immediately extended his support to Bobby, offering a flight to Atlanta in his private jet.
Bobbi Kristina was placed in a medically induced coma at the Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia, and was transferred to Emory several days later as her condition worsened.
As family members have been filing in and out of the hospital, the distraught father released a statement to Us on Sunday about his baby girl. "Privacy is requested in this matter," he said. "Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time."
As he continues to grapple with his daughter's condition — which a source described to Us as "really dire" — the news that he is expecting his second child with Etheredge circulated on Thursday. Etheredge and his daughter LaPrincia, 24, joined him at the hospital early Wednesday morning.
The same source told Us of Bobbi Kristina: "It doesn't look like she's coming back, at least not back to her old self."
"[Bobby] hasn't been able to accept that his daughter isn't coming back," the insider continued. "Their last interaction is not the last one he wants to have with his daughter."
