Bruce Jenner was involved in a car crash this past weekend.

Clearing his head. Just 24 hours after he was involved in a tragic car accident, Bruce Jenner was seen going for a drive in Malibu, Calif.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians patriarch, 65, cruised down the Pacific Coast Highway in his Porsche 911 GT3 RS on Sunday morning, Feb. 8. Jenner was driving his Cadillac Escalade the day before when tragedy struck.

On Feb. 7, the former Olympian — in the midst of a gender transition from male to female — was in a four-car pileup on the PCH that resulted in the death of one driver, a 69-year-old woman named Kim Howe, who was a Kardashian-Jenner neighbor in the family’s Calabasas neighborhood. Two cars reportedly crashed in front of Jenner and he could not stop in time to prevent his car from rear-ending the vehicle that Howe was driving.

“Bruce is devastated,” a source close to the Kardashians tells Us Weekly. “The accident happened right in front of his eyes and he stayed there the entire time watching everything. The woman who passed away was not in good shape and Bruce saw her body being taken out of the car.”

“He knows he wasn’t responsible but he still feels terrible,” the insider adds. “This past week was rough for him.”

During his tough time, Jenner has received support from his famous daughters and stepdaughters. He has stayed close to daughters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, as well as ex-wife Kris Jenner‘s daughters Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian as he takes steps in his transition into becoming a woman and, eventually, addressing that change with fans.

“All the girls checked in with Bruce after the accident,” the source said. “All of them. They all wanted to make sure he was okay and to show their support. They really are trying to be there for him as much as they can right now. This is tough on him.”

On Sunday, Jenner was seen with his longer, more feminine hair. He tucked his growing brunette locks under a black baseball cap, and wore track pants, a hooded sweatshirt, and sunglasses.

As the investigation of the accident continues, Jenner has been going out of his way to cooperate with authorities. He offered up phone records to show that he was not texting at the time of the crash, and sent his condolences to the families of those involved immediately following the incident.

“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident,” Jenner said in a statement. “It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”
