American Idol's Casey Abrams sure knows how to make an impression on the judges.
During his Wednesday night cover of Maroon 5's "Harder to Breathe," the 20-year-old singer proved exactly why he was worthy of his March 24 judges' save with a rockin' rendition of the pop hit. (Watch a clip above).
While his vocals were solid, it was Abrams' actions after the performance that really wowed the judges.
At the tail end of his routine, Abrams sauntered up to the judges' table to plant a kiss on Jennifer Lopez's cheek.
"You did what I've been trying to do for the last four months!" yelped a stunned Steven Tyler.
Lopez was clearly enamored by Abrams. "Casey's got soft lips," she giddily told fans. "I loved it…the performance! The performance was great. You had all your Casey-isms in there and took a pop song and made it all the way rock. Good job!"
Tyler was a bit more explicit with his feedback. Let's just say, good thing Idol employs a seven-second delay!
"You already are a cult hero. There's millions of people in America that are really angry because you pissed them off because you're so f—ing good!" he told Abrams before the audience fell silent in shock. "You changed so many people's minds because you're so good and you're that kind of an artist. So…darn good!"
