Chris Martin gave an update about life with estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow during an interview with Valentine in the Morning on 104.3 on Friday, July 25. The Coldplay rocker seemed at peace about the couple's decision to end their 11-year marriage, noting that there's nothing much else to say about it."
"The truth is—well, I don't really love talking about this stuff. But the thing we told everyone at the beginning of the year is true," the 37-year-old said. "We are very close, we are not together. But, we're…you know…that's the truth… and uh, that's it."
"You know, there's a lot of love," he continued. "So there's nothing—there's no scandal I'm afraid. I wish i could give you scandal."
Martin and Paltrow, 41, have remained amicable since announcing their "conscious uncoupling" in March, spotted out several times together and with their daughter Apple, 10, and son Moses, 8. The Coldplay frontman has also been forthcoming about the couple's public breakup before. In April, he admitted that his own issues contributed to the dissolution of their marriage.
"This was more a realization about trying to grow up basically…if you can't open yourself up, you can't appreciate the wonder inside," he told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe in April. "So you can be with someone very wonderful, but because of your own issues you cannot let that be celebrated in the right way."
