Rules are rules. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend may be madly in love, but both industry heavyweights know it takes a lot to make a marriage work — including, sometimes, some pretty explicit restrictions.
“No hot nannies, drivers, or maids,” Teigen told reporters at Lauren Conrad’s New York Fashion Week show on Wednesday, Sept. 9. “It’s an ongoing joke in my house. I do want to have kids one day, so it’s something that I have to think about. But the rule is no hot nannies. I trust John, but you never know with these men.”
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model added that it’s not really just looks she’s worried about, though.
“These days, it doesn’t really matter what you look like — sometimes cabin fever just strikes and men do the do,” she said, joking that she has to keep a close watch on her own female assistant, whom she called “cute.” “It’s too late for me, though, because I have a hot assistant.”
Teigen, 29, and Legend, 36, who tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Lake Como, Italy, in September 2013, have both spoken frequently about their relationship, which they often document on social media.
At a Sept. 10 AXE White Label event during New York Fashion Week, Legend told Us that a big part of the reason why their marriage works is that they “really love and respect” each other.
“We are both with somebody who makes us better, I think,” the R&B crooner said. “We’re really compatible, we’re really good friends, and I can’t imagine us divorcing, knock on wood. …I think it’s great to have a partner in life that you really know has your back and you’re in it together forever.”
