TMZ reports that Kevin and his father’s fiancée, Dawn, got into an argument at their St. Petersburg, Florida, home in 2013. Dawn reportedly told the police that Kevin slammed her arm in a door, breaking her wrist. Kevin, however, claimed that Dawn was intoxicated and that he was trying to escape her. No arrest was made.

Police were called to their home again in 2014 when Kevin and his father got into an altercation, but TMZ notes that again, no arrests were made.

According to police, Kevin had with him two handguns, ammunition and a large hunting knife. Kevin shot her during a meet-and-greet after the show and then himself after the singer’s brother, Marcus, tackled Loibl.

On Saturday, the shooter’s family placed a note on their front door that read: “Deepest sorrow for lost to the family, friends & fans of the very talented Christina Grimmie. No other comments.”
