Against all odds, George Clooney has finally settled down with new wife Amal Alamuddin — and according to his closest friends, he couldn’t have picked a better partner.
“It’s just good that he found someone,” Rande Gerber told Us Weekly with his wife Cindy Crawford at Brian Bowen Smith‘s ‘Wildlife’ Solo Show Opening at De Re Gallery. “I think she’s really perfect for him.”
“She’s smart,” businessman Gerber, 52, continued of Alamuddin, 36. “She’s beautiful, engaging. Once again, she’s smart but she doesn’t make you feel stupid. She’s a great girl and together I think they can do some incredible things.”
Clooney, 53, famously ended his long-running streak as a notorious bachelor last month, when he married his British barrister love in a glamorous affair at Venice’s Aman Canal Grande hotel. Gerber and Crawford, 48, were just two of the famous faces amongst the elegant crowd, which also included guests Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Bill Murray, and Anna Wintour.
“It was a really good time,” Gerber told Us of the wedding. Crawford added that there were “many appearances” of Gerber and Clooney’s Casamigos tequila. “It was three days and so people drank for three days,” Gerber explained.
Clooney spent one of his last moments as a single man with Crawford and Gerber, who said he’s been friends with the Oscar winner for “probably half my life.” The trio got breakfast together the morning of the Alamuddin-Clooney wedding, dining outside in Venice.
