Family first. Criss Angel revealed the reason why he cancelled his Believe magic shows at the Luxor in Las Vegas on Friday, Oct. 23 — to fly back to Australia to be with his son, Johnny, who was just diagnosed with leukemia.

The beloved magician, 47, cancelled his shows through Nov. 1 so that he could be with his 2-year-old son, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

“In light of a family emergency the news I was going to announce this weekend will be postponed,” Angel tweeted on Friday, Oct. 23. “Thank you.”

The illusionist followed up his first tweet with two more, including a photo of him holding his little boy. This also marked the first time Angel had confirmed that he was indeed a father.

“Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers,” he tweeted shortly after sharing the pic.
