Well, that was quick. Less than a day after Demi Lovato announced she was quitting Twitter and Instagram after getting backlash over some of her more inflammatory messages, the “Heart Attack” singer came storming back to Twitter, more outspoken than ever.
“F–k this.. I’m back bitches. And I’m coming back more honest than ever,” the singer, 23, tweeted on Tuesday, June 21. She followed up with a tweet featuring three emojis: a sunglasses smiley, flipping the bird and a devil.
The newly single star, who split from longtime boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama at the beginning of June, had abandoned social media on Monday, tweeting, “Damn I gotta quit saying s–t. Bye Twitter.”
While she didn’t explain exactly why she’d decided to step away, Lovato tweeted a couple more messages sharing her exasperation over negative comments.
“But why do people actually give a f–k what I say?? like if you don’t care the gtfo haha,” she wrote.
“That one time I started my own charity providing mental health care for people who can’t afford it and this is what y’all talk about,” the “Confident” singer added.
“And people wonder what’s wrong with the world,” she concluded. “Pay more attention to good than bad.”
Lovato — who told fans she wasn’t stepping away from Snapchat “cause I don’t have to see what some of y’all say” — got a lot of backlash on Instagram last week after she slammed Mariah Carey for being “nasty” in the way she “constantly disses” people such as Jennifer Lopez and Ariana Grande.
She hasn’t posted anything new on Instagram since Monday, so stay tuned.
