Donald Trump was disinvited from a conservative gathering after he took a "bloody" jab at Fox News' Megyn Kelly

He’s been dumped. Donald Trump was banned from an important RedState conservative gathering after he took a menstruation jab at Fox NewsMegyn Kelly, who just moderated the GOP presidential candidate debate in Cleveland.

“She is a lightweight. I couldn't care less about her,” Trump, 69, told CNN’s Don Lemon on Friday, Aug. 7. "You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.”

Trump’s comments didn’t sit well with RedState.com editor-in-chief Erick Erickson. The blogger quickly disinvited him from the RedState event, which will bring all GOP hopefuls together in Atlanta Saturday.

“I have tried to give a great deal of latitude to Donald Trump in his run for the Presidency. He is not a professional politician and is known for being a blunt talker. He connects with so much of the anger in the Republican base and is not afraid to be outspoken on a lot of issues,” Erickson wrote on his blog Friday. “But there are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross."

“His comment was inappropriate. It is unfortunate to have to disinvite him. But I just don't want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal. It just was wrong,” Erickson continued. “I have invited Megyn Kelly to attend in Donald Trump's place tomorrow night.”

Trump didn’t sit quietly though. On Saturday, he tried to clarify his comments. “So many 'politically correct' fools in our country. We have to all get back to work and stop wasting time and energy on nonsense!” he tweeted Saturday morning. “Re Megyn Kelly quote: 'you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever' (NOSE). Just got on w/thought.”

He added: “@redstate I miss you all, and thanks for all of your support. Political correctness is killing our country. 'weakness.'" (On Thursday night, Trump also made waves when Kelly brought up how he previously called women he doesn't like "fat pigs" and "slobs." He interrupted her, saying that he was only speaking about Rosie O'Donnell.)
