Deliver Us from Eva! Desperate Housewives alum Eva Longoria has been named Maxim's Woman of the Year, the magazine's publishers announced Monday, Jan. 6 — and the cover girl, 38, looks super sexy in the accompanying spread.
"It’s especially awesome after how long it’s been since my first cover," she said of the honor. "I’ve had a beautiful relationship with Maxim over all these year," she added of her multiple recognitions from the magazine, including topping Maxim's Hot 100 two consecutive years in a row back in 2005 and 2006.
In the new spread, which was shot by photographer Randall Slavin, the brunette star wears a white, cotton one-piece cover-up and sexily lounges back on a steel, gray, velvet couch, while giving the camera a cool, confident stare.
"One thing people are usually surprised about when they get to know me is how domestic I am," she continued. "So when you see the sexy Maxim cover and then you put it against me in an apron with flour in my hair, it takes a moment to reconcile that image," she joked.
Looking good, however, is secondary to her latest accomplishments. Longoria earned a master's degree in Chicano Studies from California State University last May and had just presented her thesis when Maxim interviewed her for the story.
"I was like, 'My brain can’t jump that fast from a Maxim interview to a thesis!'" she told the mag. "Back in high school I really was the chameleon, too. I got along with the honors math club, then I would go to cheerleading practice, and then I was a band geek as well."
In the January/February 2014 issue, the Spanish-speaking actress also shared a phrase she thinks every man — including businessman boyfriend Jose "Pepe" Antonio Baston — should know: "'¡Que rico!' Say it when something is really good, when you’re enjoying something," Longoria explained. "Like, when someone sees the cover of this issue, they’re going to say, '¡Que rico!'"
The issue hits stands Jan. 17.
