UPDATE: Sawyer Sweeten committed suicide upstairs in the Texas home his family was vacationing in on Thursday, April 23, not on the porch, despite previous reports, Us Weekly can confirm.

Sawyer’s sister Madylin has released a statement about his tragic death: This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred. We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday. At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love.”

Everybody Loves Raymond child star Sawyer Sweeten has died at the age of 19, his rep confirms to Us Weekly. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the young actor is believed to have died of suicide.

Sweeten was visiting his family in Texas on Thursday, April 23, and is believed to have shot and killed himself on their front porch.
