Fans Support Corey Feldman After He Cries Over Bullying From ‘Today’ Performance

Standing by him. Corey Feldman has received an outpouring of love and support after he cried over the bullying he endured following his Today show performance on Friday, September 16.

In a since-deleted Facebook Live video, the Stand By Me actor, 45, discussed the criticism he faced for singing his new song, “Go 4 It,” on the morning show. Haters bashed his appearance and the performance, and Feldman said after Googling his name, he found “every media” outlet wrote, “It’s so bizarre, and he’s so weird, and he’s so odd.”

“We just wanted to tell everybody that, like, it’s been really painful,” the ’80s icon tearfully said on Saturday, September 17, alongside one of his Corey’s Angels bandmates Courtney Anne. “It was a song, OK? It wasn’t that weird. I’m sorry if that’s not good enough for you, but you don’t have to beat us up. … Why is it OK to publicly shame us?”

Pink was just one of the many celebs and fans who reached out to support Feldman. “Well I love ya @Corey_Feldman and I know how much it takes to get up there and do your thing. Keep your head up and know that you’re loved,” the “Raise Your Glass” singer wrote, to which the Goonies actor replied, “THANK U SO MUCH! I Really appreciate that public endorsement. U Hav always been such a Wonderful artist, activist, n overall Human!”

The former child star has been retweeting all the kind messages. “Thank you for putting yourself out there and sharing your work with the public. I have such immense respect for you,” one Twitter user wrote, while another added, “Being weird is NEVER a bad thing. ‘Weird’ is a side effect of being awesome. It’s why I’ve always love your spark #GO4IT.”

Another social media user pointed out a silver lining in the sad situation. “People are obviously watching the video though, good or bad .. Streams equal dollars so just let the money keeping rolling in @Corey_Feldman,” the tweeter wrote.
