Yet another celeb gets Travolta-fied! Gabourey Sidibe guest-hosted Chelsea Lately on Tuesday, Mar. 4, and poked fun at John Travolta‘s infamous Idina Menzel “Adele Dazeem” name flub at the 2014 Oscars.
“I was lucky enough to be an Oscar presenter this year and it’s always fun to be around so many stars,” the Precious actress said during her opening monologue.
“Unfortunately, I was backstage and missed the biggest moment of the entire broadcast. I’m not talking about when the pizza was served — I am a little bit because I ordered pepperoni — I’m talking about when John Travolta butchered Idina Menzel’s name! What was that?!”
“It was crazy,” she said laughing. “I actually feel badly for John. Give the guy a break! He’s not the only one who has trouble pronouncing things. This is what happened when Chuy was asked to do a special voiceover.”

She then showed a behind-the-scenes clip of Chelsea Handler‘s beloved sidekick Chuy Bravo reading a script of Sidibe’s name. After several attempts at pronouncing “Gabourey” and “Sidibe” correctly, Bravo finally gets it right — until he’s asked to say it in high and low pitches.
Travolta, on his end, released a statement Tuesday evening addressing his now-viral botching of Menzel’s name during the Academy Awards. “I’ve been beating myself up all day,” the actor shared. “Then I thought…what would Idina Menzel say, She’d say, Let it go, let it go! Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!”
