Southern treat! George Clooney took his wife, Amal Alamuddin, on a hometown date on Wednesday, June 3. The Tomorrowland actor, 54, and human rights lawyer, 37, touched down in Augusta, Ky., for Clooney’s annual family reunion and stopped by the actor’s beloved local bakery, Magee’s.
“They were fun as a couple!” co-owner Russell Dickson tells Us Weekly of the newlyweds, who walked into the eatery holding hands. “They ordered the transparent, that’s his thing, he loves the transparent,” Dickson adds of Clooney, who indulges in the pie-like pastry whenever he’s in town.
The lovebirds, who tied the knot in Venice, Italy, in September 2014, also noshed on pudding.
“His family has been a customer for years, so I kind of half grew up with him always hanging around the bakery,” Dickson recalled. “He stops in maybe once a year or so.”
Although Clooney regularly visits the beloved spot, the hunk admits things have changed for him now that he’s a married man.
“Everything’s different now,” the Ocean’s Eleven alum revealed during an appearance on Good Morning America last month. “Actually it is. I was going to make a joke, but it is actually. I couldn’t be happier,” he gushed. “We’re having a really fun time.”
