They may all sound great with a microphone onstage, but some of music's biggest talents are a little more quirky and candid on the red carpet. At the 2013 Grammys on Sunday, Feb. 10, some of the industry's biggest names, including Chris Brown, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, shared some of their thoughts and excitement on the red carpet.
"I'm showing inside boob but not sideboob, which is not forbidden. …I think that the people you want to see ignore that rule are Rihanna and Miley — she definitely ignored that rule last night. I'd like to see underwear and some 'puffy parts,' as they call it. …And I like it when artists show up in an egg, no one’s shown up in an egg yet, which is crap."
— Kathy Griffin to the Associated Press on the new Grammy dress code
"They said no puffy skin and i have puffy skin so maybe I'm breaking the rules!"
— Miranda Lambert to the AP about her look for the night
"You know in that moment of Disney when Ariel gets legs for the first time? I felt like that. I was like, 'I've got legs.'"
– Carly Rae Jepsen to E! News on how she chose her dress
"I'm hoping it's just real music. A lot of the music nowadays—I love it—but it's very gimmicky, even with mine. Some of my music is gimmicky, but I think I just wanna go back to the real music…a lot of instruments, the real band essence of being able to perform and be an entertainer."
— Chris Brown to E! on what he thinks will be the next big thing in music
"It's worth more than me."
— Carrie Underwood on her statement diamond necklace
"It makes an old gal feel pretty damn good."
— Bonnie Raitt to the AP on winning her 10th Grammy award
