Gwen Stefani: I’m “Working on My Spiritual Exercising” Rather Than Working Out

Gwen Stefani: "I've Been Working on My Spiritual Exercising"
A newly divorced Gwen Stefani told Us Weekly and other reporters that she's been working on her "spiritual exercising" rather than working out -- find out what this entails.

She's working on that (spiritual) fitness! Days after it was reported that her divorce from Gavin Rossdale was settled, newly single Gwen Stefani told Us Weekly and other reporters on Thursday, Oct. 29, that she's been working on her "spiritual exercising" rather than working out at the gym.

"You know what? I haven't really been working on my physical appearance," the Voice coach, 46, told Us at the 2015 UCLA Neurosurgery Visionary Ball in Beverly Hills. "I've been working on my spiritual exercising and like really trying to connect, and be grateful and considerate, and living in the present."

Stefani said she's replaced her usual workout routine with this mental prep. "That's where I put a lot of my exercise right now, so if that's what you're seeing," she shared. "That's awesome, because I've been working really hard on that."

The mom of three — who shares sons Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 20 months, with Rossdale — reportedly settled the terms of her divorce from the Bush frontman, 50, with a 50/50 split of custody. The A-list couple shocked everyone when they announced their split after 13 years of marriage in August.

Stefani also recently released her new single, "Used to Love You," following her painful split. The raw lyrics prompted Matt Lauer to ask Stefani in an interview this past Tuesday, Oct. 27, whether the tune were about her ex-husband. "Put me on the spot!" Stefani replied uncomfortably. "What I'll say about that is that I've never put a record out where I'm actually going through things in real time."

The platinum-blonde beauty further detailed the song's origins while speaking with Us Weekly on Thursday night. "It's funny when people try to go deeper into a song that's already like so spilling my guts. Like what else can I say? You know what I mean?" she joked. It's like… I've never put music out in real time where I'm really going through stuff right….I only wrote that song a few weeks ago."

According to Stefani, the entire process was cathartic. "I didn't even do makeup. We had been rehearsing all day, we just did it for the screens like behind and it just came out," she dished. "It was just amazing. So it's been amazing to have like you know even someone like you that I don't know but I can feel that you saw it and that you understand it. Like that feels good to me. It's like comfort. You know what I mean? And I love doing music and having that. It's like I'm giving you something and then you're giving me something."
